Communication within a single state. Intrastate communications are regulated by each state´s PUC.

What are local toll calls? TOP
These are calls that can occur within your area code, but your local provider charges you by distance (Intralata). For example, calls from 12-20 miles away would be billed at one rate and 21-30 at another, depending on time of day as well. The cost of a "local toll" call with TOTAL CALL is the same as any in-state call.

How do I place an international call? TOP
To make an international call: 011 + country code + city code + local number.

What about night, evening and weekend rates? TOP
All of Total Call's rates are 24 hour a day, 7 day a week rates.

Do I have to sign a contract? TOP
No, you may discontinue service any time because there is no contract.

Does TOTAL CALL offer calling cards? TOP
Yes. The travel card rate is currently 9.9¢ per minute. All calling card calls will be included in your monthly bill.

Can I use my calling card to make international calls? What are the rates? TOP
Yes. International calling card calls are 5¢ per minute higher than the published international rates and are billed in whole minute increments (60/60).

Can I use my calling card to make calls from a foreign country to the US? TOP
No. Currently your calling card can only be used for calls originating from within the US.

Will I be billed by my local phone company for my long distance calls? TOP
No. You will receive a separate bill from TOTAL CALL for your long distance calls.
There is no minimum monthly long distance charge.

Will TOTAL CALL reimburse me for the change over fee charged by my local phone company to change my service to TOTAL CALL? TOP
Yes. Attach a copy of the bill from your local telephone company showing the change over fee to the first or second TOTAL CALL bill you pay. Reimbursement will show as a credit on your next TOTAL CALL bill.

Can I pay my bill with a credit card? TOP
Yes, you can pay with a credit card or direct withdrawal. Instructions are available on the order page.

What is a PICC fee? TOP
PICC (Pre-subscribed Interexchange Carrier Charges) are federally mandated charges that businesses must pay based on the number and types of phone lines that they have. These fees are designed to compensate the local telephone companies for the costs associated with providing "local loop" service. If a business has only one line, there is no PICC fee. Subsequent lines are billed at $3.75 per line per month. If you have Sentrek or Centrex system, PICC charges are $.53 per line. There are no PICC fees for residential phone lines, no matter how many you have.

What is the Universal Service Fund? TOP
All telecommunications carriers are required to contribute to the Federal Universal Service Fund (also known as USF), which provides communications services to schools, rural health care facilities, and certain other entities. The Federal Universal Service Fee is assessed on interstate and international calls only. You may find the current USF rate at the FCC web site.

Does TOTAL CALL offer account codes (PACs)? TOP
Yes, TOTAL CALL offers both verified and non-verified Product Account Codes (PACs).

What is "slamming"? TOP
The term "slamming" refers to a long distance provider changing your long distance service without your knowledge or consent. To prevent "slamming," we recommend you put a PIC freeze on your phone line.

What is a PIC freeze? TOP
A ''PIC Freeze'' is a block your local phone company puts on your line, per your request, which protects you from being switched ("slammed") to another long distance carrier without your express consent.

How long will it take to get my service switched? TOP
After TOTAL CALL has received a new account with proper authorization, the process takes approximately 5 to 10 business days. After the account has been set up by TOTAL CALL, each customer will receive a welcome letter explaining important information about their account. Included in this letter is information on how to verify that you have been switched and what to do if you have a "PIC freeze".

What is the billing increment on domestic 1+ calls? TOP
TOTAL CALL bills in 6 second increments after the first 6 seconds (6/6). Most long distance provider´s bill in one-minute increments. If your call last 2 minutes, you get billed for 2 minutes. However, if your call lasts for 2 minutes and 1 second, you get billed for 3 minutes. With 6 second billing, you get billed for 1/10 (.1) of a minute for every 6 seconds the call lasts. For that same 2 minute and 1 second call, you would get billed for 2.1 minutes instead of 3 minutes. With 6 second billing, you will save an average of 5-15% per call based upon the call length over full minute billing.
